All I Want For Christmas...

I'm actually not that big a fan of Christmas. Don't get me wrong... I love all that it stands for in my faith. I just don't like how super commercialized it has all gotten. With the millions of dollars being spent over the season somewhere along the way the true meaning of Christmas has been lost. I'm not just talking about Jesus and faith either. To me Christmas should be about togetherness, support, joy, and celebration.

But let's face it we all like receiving gifts!! So this is what I'm hoping to find under the tree on Christmas morning. (And if not then this is what I'll be saving up for in the new year!)

I would really like to get my hands on a Fujifilm Instax Mini 25 instant camera!

Why do I want this especially since I already have a lovely DSLR? Well as part of my 365 project I'd love to take some instax window shots. I really like the idea of a photo within a photo. Who knows why. I just adore the composition of it. Kind of like this one:

I really like the idea of having an actual photo in your hand straight after you take the shot. Plus I adore its simplicity - no fiddling around with ISO settings or whatever else with this camera!

I am really drawn to the truth of film like this. With my DSLR I can take a shot upload it to my computer and if I wanted to tweak it until it's nothing like the actual scene. Side note: I don't actually do this - I like to keep my images as close to the truth as possible. But with the instax you get what you shot - no post-processing possible. I'm kind of in love with the idea.
