Project 365 - Day One Hundred And Twenty-Four

There is something within me that recites random lines of poetry in my mind at regular intervals. I suppose it's to be expected when you've spent the last three years studying Literature. This little quirk arises at the any time. Sometime I take a photo and ALL I can think about this the poem it reminds me of.

So day one hundred and twenty-four's photo reminded me of Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood by William Wordsworth.

Image taken 28 March 2011

This photo reminded me of this particular excerpt of the photo:

What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.

Ah! Wordsworth gets me every time. It is just so beautiful! Are you a Wordsworth fan? Or do photographs ever remind you of poetry?

Until my next post I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
